Police ID 28-Year-Old Driver Killed In Violent Maryland Crash

The victim of a violent fatal collision in Seat Pleasant has been identified as a 28-year-old Hyattsville man, authorities said.

Jose Hernandez Chaves was killed after the driver of a pickup truck rear ended Chaves at a red light, pushing Chaves's vehicle into a third vehicle, on the 8400 block of Central Avenue around 3:45 p.m., Monday, May 23, Prince George's County Police say.

Chaves was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other drivers involved were not injured.

Police ask that anyone with information that could help investigators to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
